A Gift from Master: A New Ananda Sacramento Retreat!
We are happy to announce that a small group of Ananda Sacramento disciples of Master have collaborated to purchase 24 acres of land in the foothills, about an hour’s driving distance from Rancho Cordova.
Master said, “Pool your resources, buy land in the country…simple living and high thinking lead to the greatest happiness.” This retreat, dedicated to Master and his teachings, is a place for all of us to experience that simplicity by being in nature, meditating, and relaxing into peace and quiet away from the city.
The property offers plenty of space to camp, hike, and garden. There are multiple buildings on the property currently: a three-bedroom house with a garage that has a small one-bedroom apartment adjacent to the garage. Down the hill from that main building is another large workshop with a studio apartment upstairs. There are also stables, a potting shed, etc.
There will be many opportunities in the coming years for all of us to have weekend retreats, workshops, kirtans, family camps, and seclusions on this oasis of peace. This land will also provide a place of refuge in case of fire or flood danger.
