Fire and Purification Ceremonies

Join us each Sunday morning at 9:00 AM for the fire ceremony, followed by meditation and the purification ceremony. Through these sacred rituals, we have an opportunity to cleanse our hearts of all impurities and dedicate our lives more fully to God.
In the Fire Ceremony, we offer our lives to God through two ancient sacred mantras: the Gayatri Mantra for enlightenment and the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra for liberation. During the Gayatri, the minister offers ghee into the fire, symbolizing our devotion and spiritual yearning. During the Mahamrityunjaya, rice is offered into the fire, representing the release of past karma.
In the Purification Ceremony, the devotee kneels before a Lightbearer (minister) and says, “I seek purification by the grace of God.” The Lightbearer responds, “The Master says, ‘Open your heart to me and I will enter and take charge of your life.'” After praying silently together, the Lightbearer offers a blessing on behalf of the Masters at the devotees heart center and says, “By the grace of our Masters, you are free!” The devotee then places into a burning bowl on the altar a small paper on which they have written what they wish to have purified by God.
