Meditation 1

Ananda Meditation

Meditation is one of the most natural and rewarding of all human activities. It gives a direct, intuitive experience of higher realities, and is the cornerstone of true spirituality. It also brings balance, rest, and growing inner peace.

Our Meditation I Course is the introduction and prerequisite for all the other meditation classes. Usually, it’s a two and a half hour class that takes place on Saturday morning and it’s led by one of our ministers or other certified Ananda Meditation Teachers.

Ananda is one of the oldest and largest centers for meditation training in the Sacramento Area. Tens of thousands of people around the world and from every walk of life have learned to meditate in Ananda classes over the past fifty years.

In this class, you will learn specific meditation techniques, as well as many ways to enhance its practice and your life. Be prepared for a major shift in higher consciousness, and come with an open mind and a willing heart.

Reviewers of the course can attend for free!

Meditation II ~ A Three-Week Course

In this class, which is designed for those who have completed Meditation Step 1, we will go beyond the basics and focus on tools that can help to deepen meditation practice by working with the subtle inner energies to develop calmness and clarity of mind, increase concentration, and overcome obstacles to meditation.

Class 1 will focus on energy, willingness, and superconsciousness with participants learning the superconscious living exercises. In class 2 we will focus on deepening devotion and using chanting and other approaches to facilitate this. Class 3 will focus on environment and attunement during other times of the day to help deepen one’s meditation practice.

Raja Yoga ~ A Twelve-Week Course in the Ancient Teachings of Self-Realization

Immerse yourself in the practice and lifestyle of Yoga & Meditation through this three-month-long intensive course! This is the most comprehensive course on yoga and meditation available today, giving you a profound and intimate understanding of how to apply these age-old teachings, on a practical, as well as spiritual, day-to-day level in this modern age.

Raja Yoga is a pre-requisite to taking initiation into Kriya Yoga. You can learn more about Raja Yoga here.

Kriya Preparation Classes ~ A Series of Weekly Courses

For those who have completed the Raja Yoga series and have mastered the Energization Exercises and the Aum Technique, the Kriya Preparation One Class will help them deepen their practice and get ready for the next step which is Kriya Initiation.

At least one year later, the aspirant can take the Kriya Preparation Two Class followed by Kriya Two Initiation and then, after another year, the Kriya Preparation Three-Four Class. This will complete the training in the ancient science of Kriya Yoga as thought by Paramhansa Yogananda, who likes to call it the “fastest vehicle towards self-realization”.

You can learn more about Kriya Yoga here.
