Deepen your connection with the divine through an evening of chanting! Join guest chanters Vayu, Christian, and Mike from Ananda Village as they lead us in singing the spiritual chants of Paramhansa Yogananda and Swami Kriyananda.

Brief periods of silence between chants will allow us to absorb the spirit of the music deeply.

Join Ram Smith and Denise Ruelas for this joyful sing-a-long presentation of the spiritual music of Kriyananda with stories and beautiful slides depicting the lives of Parmahansa Yogananda and St Francis, and their vision for world peace.

Ram is a celebrated musician and storyteller, and his wife Denise has been a singer and professional pianist for over 50 years.

Tyagi Ram Smith and Denise Ruelas are newly married residents of Ananda Village in Nevada City, CA and are both long-time Kriyabans. Ram is an ordained Lightbearer Minister of Ananda Sangha/Church of Self-Realization since 1981 and Denise supports him musically in doing a variety of Ananda events, including kirtans, concerts, pilgrimages, Sunday Services and retreats.

Ram and Denise have a unique spiritual ministry together as they are both Ananda Yoga and Meditation instructors, as well as professional musicians and singers. Ram and Denise have recorded two musical albums in 2023: “What Is Love?- Songs of Swami Kriyananda” and “Channels of Peace-The Spirit of St Francis of Assisi” www.ramanddenise.bandcamp.com.

Finally, Ram has studied, practiced, and taught Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings, under the guidance of the late Swami Kriyananda, since 1977 and was a founding member of Ananda Assisi, where he lived in Italy for 7 years and met Pope John Paul II at the Vatican March 1989.

Deepen Your love for God with an evening of chanting!

Join Prem, Terri, and Tom for an IN-PERSON at the Temple on Friday, October 13, from 6:30 to 8 pm

This kirtan will feature harmonium, guitar, and tablas. The devotional music will include songs from Yogananda, Swami Kriyananda, and traditional Sanskrit chants from ancient India.

There will be two brief periods of meditation throughout, concluding with healing prayers and Prasad.

For those who cannot attend in person, the kirtan will be available online at the Ananda Sacramento YouTube channel.

Please join Nayaswami Devaki for a celebration of this beloved guru’s birth and life. This program honors Lahiri’s birthday and mahasamadhi anniversary which both take place in late September.

Lahiri Mahasaya, known as the householder devotee, was a disciple of Babaji and guru to Sri Yukteswar.

This evening will include stories of his life, devotional chanting, and a flower ceremony. We hope to see you!

Kirtan with Leiya, Chaitanya’s daughter, at the helm. She is an original founder of the White Lightening Kirtan Band from Ananda Village. Her humble father will be tagging along.
